Linus Oakes Retirement Village began as a hope and dream of Sister Jacquetta Taylor, President and CEO of Mercy Medical Center. Through the dedication and perseverance of Sister Jacquetta and many others, the first stage of building was completed in the fall of 1986. On the day of dedication, Sister Jacquetta shared the Linus Oakes Pledge of Purpose:
