Home Is Right Around The Corner
Conveniently located off I-78/309 and nestled between Allentown, Bethlehem, Salisbury, and Emmaus, our Mountain View community is currently licensed for up to 150 residents. Mountain View has been serving the needs of the community since the 1980’s, and was one of the first Senior Living in the Lehigh Valley. Mountain View has continued to grow through the years to meet the needs of various owners and the customers they served.
Our Accomodations
We have an assortment of room options, from large private apartments to smaller semiprivate quarters. Mealtimes are spent in one of our 2 large dining rooms, and all the meals are prepared on-site. Relax in the Bistro with hot or iced tea while overlooking a beautifully landscaped enclosed courtyard. Take your pick of the many activities available in the home, or sign up for some of the trips off-site for even more fun.
A Walk Down Memory Lane
We have a smaller enclosed 18-bed unit inside of our home specifically for those who have dementia or Alzheimer’s. Memory Lane has its own dining and activity area, as well as a private fenced courtyard planted to please all the senses. A smaller area is better for people with dementia because these patients may tend to get lost easily or wander . The smaller unit makes it easier for those residents to go where they want to safely, without being overwhelmed.
Life at Mountain View
Come make new friends during meals in the spacious dining rooms. Sip on a cup of coffee in the bistro or dance to some Big Band music with your honey in the lounge. Morning worship is offered every day, with several local churches visiting our residents and offering denominational services regularly. Wednesday afternoons offer an opportunity to share snacks and drinks during “Happy Hour”, although we never limit “happy” to only one “hour”. On Movie Night, we revisit the Hollywood classics and stars of yesteryear. Many residents enjoy BINGO, card games, or other games, and they enjoy it more when they WIN! Our wheelchair-accessible bus takes residents on local shopping, dining, and casino trips and more! We’ve also started some community service projects, including collecting BoxTops for our local school children, and making home-made treats for our four-legged friends at the local animal shelter.
What Makes Us Special
Pendants
Our residents are assigned a pendant to wear when they move in. This pendant can be pressed to request assistance from the staff, and is linked to the resident’s room number.
Bathroom & Shower Call Stations
Our bathrooms and shower rooms are equipped with emergency call stations, easily activated by pulling a cord, to summons the staff quickly.
Wander Guard System
On admission, residents are assessed for level of supervision required. A wander guard wrist or ankle alarm is given to appropriate residents, which then sets off an audible alarm if that person crosses an alarmed door.
Pager system
Our direct care staff (called “PCA’s) carry pagers, which notify them of pendant calls, emergency calls, or wander guard alerts. With this system, all the staff can rapidly respond to calls and emergencies.
Fire Safety
If the unexpected happens, our building is equipped with a fire alarm system with pull stations and extinguishers located throughout the home. We also have a building-wide sprinkler system, and full fire suppression system in our kitchens.
All staff are trained about fire prevention and evacuation on their first day, and at least annually afterward. Finally, our building has monthly fire drills, which everyone (staff and residents) is required to participate in.
